Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson's Wedding Had 'Alice In Wonderland' Theme, 'Emotional' Toast From Jessica: Reports

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson's wedding Saturday night was a non-denominational, Alice in Wonderland-themed ceremony that was presided over by Ash's dad, Joe Simpson, with sister Jessica, serving as bridesmaid.

The wedding, which took place in the backyard of Joe and Tina Simpson's Encino, California, home, was attended by approximately 150 guests, including Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, "Scrubs" actor Donald Faison and girlfriend Cacee Cobb, as well as Jessica's maybe/ maybe not boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, according to Us Magazine. The bride, 23, wore an ivory lace Monique Lhuillier dress and a diamond necklace with matching earrings, while Wentz, 28, wore a Dior Homme tuxedo.

While People.com's initial, "exclusive" report on the wedding seemed to confirm rumors that Simpson is pregnant — saying that she is "pregnant with the couple's first child," although there were no quotes from Wentz or Simpson on the matter — at press time, the wording had been altered to read, "who sources say is pregnant with the couple's first child," and a representative for the couple told MTV News on Monday (May 19), "We have not, nor did we ever, confirm anything but the wedding." Wentz denied that Simpson is pregnant when asked about the rumors last month by MTV News, but speculation has continued.

People aso reported that Wentz's English bulldog, Hemingway, served as the ringbearer, and that the reception featured a Wonderland-inspired cake with a top hat, teapot, stopwatch and a pot of flowers on top, with elaborate centerpieces with black beauty roses. Guests sipped on Veuve Clicquot champagne and danced to music from a DJ after dinner. OK! added that the bridesmaids wore black Vera Wang gowns and celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck catered the event.

One unnamed guest told E! Online that the wedding was a "magical" and beautiful" event that bore the imprint of the Simpson clan's hands-on patriarch, dubbing it the "Joe Simpson Show."

After escorting his youngest daughter down the aisle, the site reported that Joe Simpson told the guests funny and touching stories about Ashlee before beginning the wedding, frequently choking up during the ceremony. "They were all crying," the source said, "it was very moving."

Big sister Jessica was reportedly a bit glum during the wedding, but did give an "emotional, off-the-cuff" toast at one point, according to E!, saying that Pete and Ashlee's relationship, "had inspired [her] to love again." Wentz's brother also gave a toast.

Strangely, for a wedding of two musicians, E! reported that there was no live band, and no one danced until after the cake was cut.

The guests gathered underneath white tents, which were decorated with black rugs, white couches with red pillows, black chandeliers and lots of red roses, the site reported. At the couple's request, all the guests wore dark colors. After taking pictures, E! reported that Ashlee emerged in a "sexy black party dress" to dance, and claimed that it was barely noticeable that she was pregnant with the couple's first child. Though guests were required to check their cell phones and cameras at the door, they did leave with a memento: a red box containing a cookie that, continuing the "Alice in Wonderland" theme, read, "Eat me."

Savage Grace

Based on an award winning book by Natalie Robins and Steven M.L. Aronson, Savage Grace is a true story of a societal poseur, Barbara Daly (Julianne Moore), who climbs her way into a different class by marrying Brookes Baekeland (Stephen Dillane), heir to a plastics fortune. Soon the birth of their only child Tony turns their union upside down as the boy becomes uncommonly close with his mother and remains a failure in his fathers eyes. As the story spans years, ranging from 1946 to 1972, dad disappears into his own world of work and affairs while Barbara becomes increasingly lonely, desperate and clingy--entering into an incestuous tryst with her now grown son (Eddie Redmayne), a homosexual. The film details her pathetic attempts at presenting herself as something shes not as she carries on the unnatural relationship-- which eventually leads to tragic consequences. There is no question Julianne Moore is perhaps the most courageous, certainly most daring actress of her generation. Again, in Savage Grace, she proves herself willing to do anything and go further than most. Unfortunately, the stilted dialogue and tone of the piece dont do her any favors. We never get the feeling were watching real life unfold as most of these characters speak like they are in a stage production. Nevertheless, Moore--with her flaming red hair and open sexuality--is still a treat to watch. Her Barbara is sensual, dangerous and unpredictable. British thesp Dillane (HBOs John Adams) proves again he can do just about anything and rises above the melodramatic script--mostly in the films first half. Redmaynes Tony--a twisted mamas boy trying to carve out his own identity--is rather hopeless, and the actor struggles to make us empathize with him. Hugh Dancy turns up as Simon, a gay friend of the family, who winds up in a threesome with mother and son.Director Tom Kalin does no favors for his actors by creating a fake atmosphere around them. Even though Savage Grace is shot on a number of glamorous worldwide locations, it feels small and claustrophobic. Kalin--like his talented cast--seems a little defeated by screenwriter Howard A. Rodmans dreary and soapy script, heavy with bloated dialogue and far-fetched situations. Writer and director seem to have taken a number of liberties with the real life story and the book the film is based on, instead interpreting the characters actions from photographs taken at the time. Unfortunately, their technique leaves the audience out of the loop. Rarely has a movie, particularly one with the gifted Moore, seemed so distant and uninvolving. Graphic sexual scenes in the unrated film seem only there to shock, not enlighten and by the end we know little more about the Baekeland saga than we did going in.

OK! Exclusive: Ashlee Steps Out for Pete's Birthday

Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz had more than just his 29th birthday to celebrate on Thursday night the rock star recently wed gal pal Ashlee Simpson and the pair recently confirmed OK!'s report that they will soon be expecting their first child together.

So to ring in Pete's last year before turning 30 and maybe his last big party before he has to start changing diapers nightlife maven Brent Bolthouse arranged for a private party for the couple in the exclusive upstairs VIP area at his hot Hollywood club Foxtail, where the newlyweds Pete in an all-black tuxedo-ish getup, Ashlee in a sleeveless ruffled dress and ankle boots arrived around 9:45pm in a stretch limo.

Even though there was Secret-Service-style security on-hand, with bouncers laser-scanning VIP wristbands and extra muscle men circulating around the club, that didn't stop the mom-and-pop-to-be from spending most of the party downstairs, away from their invite-only guests upstairs. "Pete and Ash worked the dining room," one clubgoer tells OK!. "They were walking from table to table, chatting and shaking hands." Maybe Pete is making a bid for the Vice Presidency?

Pete and his still-blushing bride eventually settled at a long table with eight friends who were eating and drinking the night away. "They didn't sip a drop of alcohol," one insider says about Pete and Ashlee. "Though I can't say the same for their guests!"

At the stroke of midnight, waiters brought out a birthday cake, with "Happy 29th Birthday Pete" written on it, to the table while the crowd sang "Happy Birthday." The pop-punker had a bit of trouble when he attempted to blow out his candles, requiring three attempts and accidentally dowsing the front of his suit jacket with icing.

Around 1am, it was time for the couple to call it a night, as they exited out the front door and into their awaiting limo, which took them back home.

WMA planning $100 mil film fund

Agency kept separate from fund

CANNES -- WMA will announce a film fund in Cannes on Saturday whose value will total about $100 million. Although WMA could play a key role in the fund, it will be financed by multiple outside sources and exist as an entirely separate entity from the agency.

Film funds had been hugely popular in the past few years, funding a range of studio and indie projects, until the debt crunch and other factors essentially stopped new ones from being created in the middle of 2007.

A fund would be a boost to a specialty-film biz reeling from the shuttering of Warner Independent Pictures and Picturehouse and a cash crunch at ThinkFilm owner Capitol Films.

Wii Fit girl was 'FURIOUS' at her boyfriend

Wiifitgirl After Giovanny Gutierrez recorded a lithe, undie-clad brunette playing the Wii Fit hula hoop game, the video scored a lightning-quick 500,000 views on YouTube, and racked up a monstrous 9,000 Diggs.

Gutierrez has said that even though he works at an advertising firm, the video wasn't a viral ad for Wii, even if it really should have been.

No, it was just a surreptitious video of his girlfriend. "She loves Wii Fit and even more," he wrote to me in an e-mail, she "looks hot doing it."

How did she react when she found out that he'd posted the video without telling her, and that hundreds of thousands of Wii fans were now drooling over her?

"She was FURIOUS," wrote Gutierrez, who said she "called me on the phone screaming her head off and then hung up on me."

"But now [she] finds herself actually laughing about it and enjoying her 15 minutes of fame."

Why stop at 15 minutes? Maybe she's got a future doing virtual underwear hula-hooping...
